Persecution Update India August Issue

One of the biggest evils facing our society in India today is perhaps the disgusting Love Jihad, a perverted attempt by a small section of the misguided Muslim youth in Kerala and the coastal belt of Karnataka. This perverted attempt is luring innocent girls through all kinds of devious methods by feigning to fall in love with them but in reality it is a subtle attempt of converting them to Islam in order to boost their population and make use of these innocent and gullible victims for all kinds of immoral activities, including the terrorist activities in the country. It becomes still more tragic when the two words, love and jihad, are being used exactly for the opposite purpose by a pretense of using them for the glory of God. This recent development is being hotly debated by all sections of people throughout the country, and regarded by some as a menacingly lurking danger in one's own courtyard, and by others as only a figment of the imagination of some of the over suspicious paranoid individuals.

But, some of the recent developments, incidents involving people in India and abroad, clearly go to prove that the allegations are no longer baseless or false, and that a large number of young girls have already fallen prey to this diabolic design of Love Jihad, perhaps never being able to extricate themselves from the clutches of the vice-like grip of its tentacles and come back to their original faith and be able to live a normal life ever again. A large number of Christian girls too are feared to have fallen victims to this love jihad trap. Though confined mainly to Kerala and the coastal belt of Karnataka at the moment, this ruthless exercise seems to be part of a larger diabolic plan, steadily spreading its tentacles all over the country. It is slowly coming to the fore in the world at large now with what is happening in other parts of the world, as happened recently in a place called Luton, a township about 30 miles from London. Leaflets were being stealthily circulated in that sleepy little township among the Muslim youth, with a clear-cut diktat to them that they should lure Sikh and Hindu girls to Islam, by using ostensibly normal and accepted norms of love and friendship as usually done between two adults of the opposite sex.
Now speaking about the Christian community more specifically, and its innocent and misguided young girls falling prey to these terrible snares of a perverted lot, there cannot be a greater evil on the part of the elders of the Christian community in India than of turning a deaf ear, or of covering oneself with a thicker blanket and trying to go to sleep, when the evil is menacingly lurking on the corridors of your own house. That, precisely, seems to be the situation of the Christian community in India today with its mere 2 per cent and odd Christian population, in the 2nd largest country in the world. Now, this terrible curse is really looming large before us, wherein our girls are being trapped and permanently taken away from us, let alone their fellowship and services being denied to our community as Christian young ladies, though born, brought up and nurtured with the sweat of the brows of their loving and caring parents . Though very sad even to think about such tragedies occurring before our very eyes today, this is only the result of our own ever changing and modern life style, with our lukewarm attitude towards the practice of our religion, much less of our duty to the work of evangelization as followers of Christ - the work of conveying the message of good news for a better life on earth, and the wonderful news of being able to rise from our very graves to life eternal. Perhaps it may not be an exaggeration even if I say that some among us may have even forgotten the fact that the very seeds of Christianity in our country were sown almost two thousand years ago, during the very birth of Christianity in the world, by no less a person than St. Thomas, one of the apostles of Christ himself.
Talking about the ramifications and the resultant and destructive effects of Love Jihad on the Indian society and its fragile system in the ever changing Indian psyche, I am not trying to create a communal disharmony in a society already sensitive to issues like these. I am fully aware of what I am trying to do, and I am only trying to know the truth myself first and then also trying to let my friends know about that truth, since truth alone can liberate us all, however painful the task may look. Everything else with whatever intentions it is pursued, is definitely evil and diabolic, however pleasant and attractive it may be made to look to a trusting simple soul. I am also very much aware of what our Lord himself has taught us that we should love the sinner, but not the sin. We certainly cannot approve of the evil deeds these youngsters are set upon to do, or are being prodded upon to do, by the invisible evil forces in the world. As a parent, I also know what it is to lose a young child, as my own little girl was called away by the Lord, even when she was hardly 15 years old. I am quite positive from the way my child had lived and died, that she is very much with the Lord, but what awaits these poor girls, lured and misled by evil forces, God alone can tell. Also think about the harrowing experiences their parents are forced to go through, perhaps till the very end of their lives in this world.
All the websites and internets are abuzz, filled with debates and discussions during the last few years. Our community too has done its bit. But what we need to do now is to create urgently the necessary awareness among our women folk, more specifically among our growing young daughters, girls that are already come of age, and din into their young minds the exact situation that prevails in our society and the world today, and what exactly is being done to entice and trap them by attractive but terribly evil Muslim youths, and that they should not fall easy prey to such diabolic designs and traps set in the guise of love and friendship. That is the only way open for us as parents, like denying the very oxygen to the burning fire so that the raging fire would get extinguished by itself. In this regard we have also brought out a leaflet giving more information with details of some of the important incidents of this shameful as well as tragic 'Love Jihad.' Through this article, we are making a humble attempt to throw sufficient light on this burning issue by gathering relevant information from various sources, and to whom we are also very sincerely grateful. If you are interested in having a copy of that leaflet, please write to us for a free copy of the same.
